Abbi Pulling (born 21 March 2003 in Goberton, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom) is a British racing driver who served as a test driver for the Nissan Formula E Team during the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.[1] The F1 Academy Champion of 2024 and an Alpine Academy driver, Pulling made her FE testing debut at the 2024 Jarama Test, topping the women's only session staged as part of that test.[1]
Background[]
Pulling's career began in karting at the age of eight, twice winning the Super 1 National Junior TKM Championship, before moving into car racing with a partial campaign in the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2018.[2] For 2019 Pulling moved to the Ginetta GT5 Challenge, before moving to the F4 British Championship in the Covid-19 affected 2020 season, finishing sixth with four podium finishes.[2] 2021 saw Pulling initially start her season in British F4, although would move to the W Series towards the end of the year, finishing seventh in the latter.[2]
Academy Ace: 2022 - Present[]
In 2022 Pulling would focus on W Series full time with backing from Alpine as an Alpine Affiliated driver and would improve to fourth in the standings in what would be the final edition of W Series.[2][3] For 2023 Pulling secured a seat in F1 Academy for the season, having been made a full member of the Alpine Academy, and would claim two poles en-route to fifth in the final standings.[2][4] 2024 saw Pulling complete a second campaign in F1 Academy, in which she would dominate with nine wins and fourteen podiums in fourteen races, leaving her as the Champion and a funded seat in GB3 Championship for 2025, as well as claim a race win in the F4 British Championship.[2]
Formula E History[]
Pulling was signed up alongside Sophia Flörsch to drive at the 2024 Jarama Test by the Nissan Formula E Team, a result of the only pre-season test for the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship adding an additional session to the test exclusively for women drivers.[1] Pulling would prove to be the standout driver during the session, setting the fastest time of the session and completing almost 40 laps of the Spanish circuit.[5]
