Bandar Alesayi (born 5 April 1976 in Saudi Arabia) is a Saudi Arabian racing driver, who competes in the 2018/19 FIA Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy with Saudi Racing.[1] Registered as a "Pro-Am" driver for his debut season in the eTrophy, Alesayi's previous experience was largely based in Porsche GT3 Cup championships in the Middle East.[2]
Background[]
Alesayi's career began in 2009, with the Saudi Arabian racer entering Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East.[2] Third overall with three podiums was the result, with Alesayi going on to finish as runner-up in the 2011/12 season.[2] Concerns away from racing subsequently saw Alesayi only manage to complete partial seasons in the Cup Challenge Middle East, with Alesayi making several appearances at the Dubai 24 Hours.[2]
Alesayi would not compete in any series during 2018, until he signed up with Saudi Racing in the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy series.[2]
Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy History[]
Alesayi would be listed as one of two drivers for the Saudi Racing squad when they confirmed their entry into the 2018/19 Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy.[1] He would be partnered by compatriot Ahmed Bin Khanen for the full campaign, with the duo entered in the Pro-Am class.[1] The pair would subsequently fight for the honours in their class at the season opening Ad Diriyah eTrophy Race, with Alesayi ultimately emerging ahead by fifteen seconds.[3]
