Chloe Chambers (born 14 June 2004 in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China) is a Chinese born American racing driver, who served as a test driver for the Andretti Formula E team during the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.[1] Chambers made her FE testing debut at the 2024 Jarama Test, having previously raced in various series including W Series and F1 Academy.[1]
Background[]
Chambers began her career karting in North America at the age of seven, and would set a world record for the fastest vehicle slalom in 2020, before securing backing to graduate to car racing in 2021 with a run in the F4 United States Championship, albeit only in a select number of rounds.[2] In 2022 Chambers would successfully test and claim a seat in what proved to be the final edition of the W Series, although she would only claim a single point en-route to sixteenth in the championship.[2] 2023 saw Chambers move back to North America to compete in the Porsche Sprint Challenge America, finishing sixth with seven victories in class, while also completing a campaign in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship where Chambers would claim a lone victory en-route to ninth.[2]
2024 brought Chambers a seat in F1 Academy for the season with backing from Haas, where the American youth scored one victory en-route to sixth in the championship, alongside runs in Porsche Sprint Challenge North America and the IMSA Ford Mustang Challenge, winning two races in the former.[2] Ahead of the 2025 season Chambers secured the backing of Red Bull and Ford to return to F1 Academy
Formula E History[]
Chambers was signed up alongside Nerea Martí to drive at the 2024 Jarama Test for the Andretti Formula E squad, as a result of teams being required to run at least one female driver in a specific women's only session during the test, which was the only pre-season test ahead of the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.[1] The only American driver in the field for the day, Chambers would end the session as the slowest of the Porsche powered drivers in the test, four seconds off the ultimate pace and over one second off her temporary teammate's best effort of the day.[1]
