Electric Racing Technologies, shortened simply to ERT, is a manufacturer that competes in the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.[1] Tied to the ERT Formula E Team, one of FE's founding teams, ERT were the only manufacturer to compete in the 2023/24 season without backing from an Original Equipment Manufacturer from the automotive industry.[2]

Background[]

ERT was formed by Brilliance In Engineering, the holding company that had control of the NIO 333 Racing team in lieu of Lisheng Sports and Gusto Engineering since 2019, after NIO withdrew from the series as a manufacturer.[1] NIO would remain as a title sponsor until the start of the 2023/24 season, when ERT was formed and a new wave of investment was poured into the team, although the team would continue to use the NIO derived NIO 333 ER9 for season 10.[1] ERT would also attempt to position itself with OEMs for its future FE endeavours, although for 2024/25 was prepared to utilise existing partnerships to build its Gen 3 Evo spec car for season 11.[2]

Formula E History[]

ERT's first FE car would effectively be a rebadged version of the NIO 333 ER9, which for 2023/24 would be known as the ERT X24, with the manufacturer prepared for a transition season.[1] That season saw some highlights, including a season high of fourth place at the 2024 Misano E-Prix I for Dan Ticktum, although the manufacturer would ultimately find itself at the bottom of the Manufacturers' Cup standings at the end of the season.[3] Ahead of 2024/25 ERT planned to use its established group of partners to construct its first non-NIO related car, with Xtrac building the gearbox and Integral Powertrain developing the the rest of powertrain.[1]
