Lilou Wadoux-Ducellier (born 10 April 2001 in Amiens, Hauts-de-France, France) is a French racing driver who served as a test driver for Jaguar Racing during the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.[1] A competitor in the World Endurance Championship and more recently Super GT, Wadoux was meant to make her FE testing debut at the 2024 Jarama Test, although an issue with her seat insert meant it was unsafe for her to take part.[1][2]

Background[]

Wadoux began her career later than most, only taking up karting at the age of fourteen, before moving into single-make saloon car series in her native France at 16, competing in various series before making her debut in the TCR Europe series in 2019, making five appearances.[3] For 2020 Wadoux would enter the Alpine Elf Europa Cup, finishing seventh after a condensed campaign, before improving to third the following season, along with a race winning debut at the Porsche Sprint Challenge Le Mans.[3] Those efforts eared her the attention of Richard Mille who signed her to the Richard Mille Racing Team in the LMP2 class of the World Endurance Championship, with Wadoux also making her 24 Hours of Le Mans debut in 2022 as a result.[3]

Twelfth in WEC LMP2, and ninth in class at Le Mans, saw Wadoux get a chance to test Toyota's championship winning Hypercar at the end of the season, as well as retain her seat with RM as they partnered with AF Corse in the LMGTE Am class for 2023, with Wadoux becoming the first female factory Ferrari driver as a result of the alliance.[3][4] She would go on to make more history in 2023 by becoming the first woman to win in any class of the WEC, claiming the honours at the 2023 6 Hours of Portimão, en-route to eighth in class at the end of the season.[3] 2023 also saw Wadoux drive for AF Corse in several other one-off races, earning her an IMSA campaign in LMP2 for 2024 alongside a debut season in Super GT, with her best result being a victory in IMSA.[3]

Formula E History[]

Wadoux was signed by Jaguar Racing alongside Jamie Chadwick to drive at the 2024 Jarama Test, the only pre-season test for the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, after the series announced an all women's session at the test which required all teams to field at least one female driver.[1] Unfortunately for Wadoux her chance of taking part in the test was over before it began, with her seat insert not fitting properly, meaning it was unsafe for her to take part despite her seat fitting having been completed in advance of the test.[2] As a result, Jaguar promised to hand Wadoux more time in their Jaguar I-Type 7 cars at a later date, although it was not revealed whether this would be in private or as part of a collective test.[2]
