The Mahindra M11Electro is an all-electric single-seater racing car, developed by Mahindra & Mahindra to compete in the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship for the Mahindra Racing team.[1][2] Developed in-house by Mahindra with technical partner ZF Group and based on the Gen 3 Evo ruleset, the M11Electro was intended to return Mahindra to the front of the field having struggled through the first two seasons of the Gen 3 era.[2]

Competitive History[]

The M11Electro made its ABB FIA Formula E World Championship at the start of the 2024/25 season, with Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara would feature at the front of the field throughout, and would claim fifth and sixth come the end of the race.[3] That matched Mahindra's best haul of points for the Generation 3 era, and the car would again appear strong in Mexico City, although it would fade later in the race, before de Vries almost claimed a late podium in Jeddah, while Mortara stormed up from last on the grid to seventh.[4]

Development History[]

Mahindra and technical partner ZF embarked on their fifth powertrain design together once the Gen 3 Evo rulebook was released to manufacturers, with the duo making an entirely new design for their attempt to move back up the field.[1] Testing began in early 2024 with Mahindra's factory drivers Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara, and in several collective tests that were not open to the public, the rest of the field were quietly surprised by the pace shown by the M11Electro.[5] The M11 would also perform well at the 2024 Jarama Test, with the car showing strong race pace, a reversal of its predecessor which was inclined to strong one-lap pace.[5]
