The Nissan e-4ORCE 04 is an all-electric racing car, which was constructed by Nissan in order to compete in the 2022/23 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with their factory supported Nissan Formula E Team.[1] The car, which was also run by the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team during season nine, was based on the Generation 3 ruleset introduced ahead of the 2022/23 season.[2]

Competitive History[]

The e-4ORCE 04 would make its debut at the 2023 Mexico City E-Prix, where Nissan and customers NEOM McLaren ran a quartet of examples of Norman Nato, Sacha Fenestraz, Jake Hughes and René Rast.[3] Hughes in the McLaren entered #5 car would enjoy the best debut for the car, breaking into the semi-finals in qualifying, before narrowly missing out on a podium spot after a race long battle with Lucas di Grassi.[3] Hughes would then get to the final at the second round, the 2023 Diriyah E-Prix I, although it was teammate Rast who ended up as the highest finishing Nissan pilot, claiming fifth place after Hughes fell back through the field in the second half of the race.[4]

Development History[]

The e-4ORCE 04 eneted development as soon as the Generation 3 ruleset was announced, with Nissan also quick to establish two technical partnerships, including a renewal of their deal with Shell to supply lubricants for their powertrains.[5]
