Tim Tramnitz (born 16 November 2004 in Hamburg, Germany) is a German racing driver who served as a test driver for the ABT Cupra Formula E Team during the 2022/23 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.[1] A runner-up in the Italian and ADAC F4 Championships, Tramnitz would make his FE test debut at the 2023 Rookie Test, and would out-pace test teammate Adrien Tambay as he finished twelfth fastest overall in the test.[2]
Background[]
Beginning his career in karting in 2011, Tramnitz would compete in various series across his native Germany through to the 2019 season, when he finished 58th in the WSK Super Master Series.[3] In 2020 Tramnitz would graduate to single-seaters with a seat in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship, where a single victory carried the German pilot to fourth in the Championship in his rookie season.[3] 2021 saw Tramnitz dovetail dual campaigns in the ADAC and Italian F4 Championships, where nine wins across the two series would see the German youth finish as runner-up in both series.[3]
2022 saw Tramnitz move to the Formula Regional European Championship, with the German racer finishing a lowly fifteenth after a quiet season.[3] Regardless, Tramnitz would get a second season in the FR Regional European Championship for 2023, as well as partial campaigns in the FR Middle East and Euroformula Open Championship.[3]
Formula E History[]
Tramnitz was handed his ABB FIA Formula E World Championship test debut by the ABT Cupra Formula E Team ahead of the 2023 Rookie Test, with the German squad partnering the young German pilot with comparative veteran Adrien Tambay.[1] However, it would be the youth who proved the faster driver on out-right pace at the Tempelhofring in his native Germany, with Tramnitz setting the twelfth fastest time overall, some three tenths faster than the Frenchman, as well as the second fastest time of the five drivers to complete the test in the Mahindra M9Electro.[2]
